A carpenter bee is coated in Rose of Sharon pollen as it reaches into the base of the flower to collect nectar. To do so, it straddles the pollen-laden pistil, and its continuous movement helps pollinate the flower. (My Final Photo for August 18, 2026. Photo by Gary Gardiner)
