Teal ribbons hang from poles and trees in Uptown Westerville as part of the “Turn the ‘Ville Teal” cervical cancer awareness program. My Final Photo for Jan. 6, 2018.
Hi Gary, this is a wonderful photo. Thank you for capturing it and sharing it. I just wanted to let you know that this initiative was our first and is one I have wanted to do for 9 years, but never felt we had enough people to help us. I always wanted to paint the town teal, actually paint everything teal since my diagnosis in 2009. Cervical Cancer is preventable and there is no reason anyone should die from it. Awareness needs to be increased which is what is happening thanks to people like you. Just so you know, this campaign was not in conjunction with the ovarian cancer program, but we definatley share a lot in common. I wasn’t aware of their program until about 3 weeks ago when I was trying to find ribbon. We will take notes from their program and next year at this time we will paint a lot more in the ‘ville. Thank you again and may God bless you and your family with good health. Sincerely, Diane (Di Crawford)
